most stands had $9.00 cans of MGD/coors light/miller light, and $9.75 cans of Blue Moon.  I bought a can of Coors and regretted it the rest of the game.  $9 for a beer is just insane (but then again, I also paid $5.00 for a hot dog).

The only import available in the 300's today was Heineken at the Base Line Brews behind 314 and occasionally from the in-stand vendors, plus Corona from the former. Hopefully other brands will follow (such as the ever-popular Amstel) - but Nats Park 300-level concessions historically have taken a while finding their feet at the start of a season.

(Sadly, if what a server at the Scoreboard Walk told me this past Friday is true, Pilsner Urquell isn't returning to that area.)

I honestly think congress needs to get on these concession prices.  Why would you treat a paying customer like that?

Not really selling me considering I thought the 400 level was nice

The 400s really aren't as bad as everyone says. I only like getting the 300s if I can get behind home plate, which is truly a fantastic view of the park. So only worth the $20 if you can get sections 312-315.

308-310 is great on sunshiny days because the shade goes there first!

Nats are 7th most expensive park in baseball for a family of four:

Interesting comparison. The main reason we are seventh is due to average ticket prices which still trails teams like the Yanks, Cubs, and Red Sox. They said that draft beer prices are $8.25, the highest in the league, aren't they $9 this year? For tickets they took the average price, for parking they took the low price, so they used $10 for Nats parking. The free programs are the best thing we have going. Are hats only $15? Not a bad deal if true, they took the team's word for it so the Nats probably keep the $15 hats on back order.

About a 20% increase since last year, by far the biggest jump in the league. The Nats would argue that ticket prices stayed the same for season plan holders, but this index is for a family going to a single game, so they should use single game prices (with service charges) rather than the discounted prices for the ticket plans.

For premium tickets, which weren't factored into the total cost, the Nats had by far the highest prices. Seems like they should be included, as the Nats have a lot more premium seats than other teams. Adding those in puts the Nats right up there with the most expensive.

Funny thing is how those free programs factor in, most teams charge $5, take that out of the equation and the Nats jump up a few spots in the rankings.

OK then, the Lerners do cater to the working man's budget.

Do they still sell Bob Carpenter's scorebook in the Nats Park store? I'm looking for a new scorebook and a Nationals one would be great.

I still don't see why more people don't say Screw That and refuse to pay the prices. I went from spending $100-$200 a game on drinks to $20 once I started sneaking my booze in. I made it into Turner with 2 750mls of booze. I had enough to keep me and the four people around me sipping on mixed drinks well past the 7th inning.

So, with the soft-side, individual portion rule, I can bring in a bagged sandwich from Subway or 5 Guys?  That seems really generous and makes me seem really dumb to buy food at the game.

Yep, I do it a lot.  Just can't bring a drink in (unless it's unopened bottled water).

I've cut back considerably in my beer buying in recent years as prices have risen (not just Nats but Wizards and Mystics too) - some nights I actually go dry. If I really need a drink that badly afterwards I've got plenty of stuff in my fridge and on my shelf.

Be at the ballpark and be "dry".... Oh no man.... that's heresy.

Understandable, it's only the sixth year that the rule has been in effect.

I thought I was the king of sneaking in beer, then I brought my old man to a game one time and he got more in than I did.

Thanks to Spidernat checking out the team store for me, it seems like they do sell custom Nationals scorebooks at the park :mg: I'll be buying mine when I get to the park!

We discussed this last night and the answer is absolutely YES! I wish we had thought of it before leaving for the game though.

They don't frisk you.  Jacket pocket, sock, any old non-obvious place would work.
