Ok, i'm a radical, but I prefer burgers w/o american cheese. Swiss is go to, and I like blue, but I'm touch and go on cheddar. Has to be sharp. Basically, anything that blands out the meat, I don't go for (other than swiss),
Now I'm a bit creeped out.
Chief just go to priceline and search for Compton motels, can't go wrong.
Bunch of commies in this thread. On sandwiches I'll get with your fancy European cheeses, but on a burger it's that melty American cheese.
American cheese will always have a place on bacon egg and cheeses. The crappier and more processed the better. None of that fancy land o lakes stuff
true. it is great on breakfast sandwiches. Melts well, mild taste.Anyone know what American Cheese is supposed to be a variation on? Is it a smoother, milder Cheddar? does is have bits of cheddar with something to give it texture?
Traditional american is a blend of cheddar and Colby or jack cheeses, I have no idea what's in those disgusting kraft plastic things.Regular cheddar doesn't melt well for a burger, american for that. Also american for grilled cheeses.
Nathan - do we dare mess with The Chief's thread and either break off the burgers and cheese topic?
