Tomorrow night promises to be a crapshow.  By the way, these are now in the team store:

Man, what a crappy game. I've never heard the stadium as silent as it was in inning seven with more than 2,000 people in it. It was eerily quiet. Oh well, we suck, another game under .500. Nothing new there.

First of all, these shirts are supposed to be for iconic players. Secondly, they should have given him a full beard.

Until Werth turns it around, I laugh at any idiot that buys that shirt. Not exactly a sign of Nats Pride to be wearing that around Nats Park unless you want to see if people will boo a shirt. Bad timing to put those in the store... I can't imagine they are selling any. This is even different from a standard shirt or jersey with his number name on it. Those celebrate the team and just so happen to focus on a player on the team. This shirt = worshiping Werth, and not so much the Nats. Like I said, it definitely is not a hot seller.

They should give him the weird Wolverine facial hair with goatee he has right now.  Just to memorialize it.  And stamp his batting average on his forehead.  Ha.

Looks like I missed another typical recent Nats match (watched the Mystics post another narrow loss, this time on a buzzer-beater) - give up a 4-spot in the first inning and spend the rest of the match trying to catch up.

First 30k+ attendance since the Fourth of July Cubs match (how many Mets supporters though?).

I'm keeping an eye on the weather (currently calling for high of 96, low of 77; heat index has stayed about 3 degrees above thermometer temperature)...still sort of on the fence about going tonight, with Metro running Yellow and Blue line trains only on 24min intervals during this weekend's track-work - last time they did that the southbound Yellow line platform was already quite overcrowded with 15min left before the next Yellow line train (luckily a Blue line was pulling in downstairs so took that instead) - we didn't have 30k in the house that night though; may not want to risk our wonderful dysfunctional transit system tonight. (Going tomorrow though - at least with an afternoon match one doesn't have to risk remaining stuck on Metrorail late at night after the 16 line Metrobuses knock off for the night.)

Werth is a symbol of all that's wrong with DC - overpaid, underperforming, no signs of changing, and here for years.

How would you symbolize Zimmerman, a loaf of white bread? Livan with a washing machine full of cash?

Zimmerman should be a picture of Morrissey pouting since he's the Mopey Face of the Franchise®

Livan is Barney Frank with a Bugs Bunny curveball.

Good grief, 2 1/2 out of fourth place already....

Anyway, from the Nats-Dodgers Game 1 thread, the last time I've been able to do one of these:

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 49th win, each season:

2005 - 2nd July (80th match)*
2011 - 22nd July (99th match)
2007 - 3rd August (109th match)
2006 - 4th August (109th match)
2010 - 6th August (110th match)
2008 - 28th August (134th match)
2009 - 11th September (141st match)

*Second of three-game sweep of Cubs at Wrigley, Armas the winner

I WANT TO START DOING THESE AGAIN AND THESE BLASTED NATS JUST WON'T LET ME!
