Too late for me
Actually the Desmond benching hurts me more, especially when my other SS is already 2 for 2 with an rbi and run scored...

I guess if they go with a lineup of

Morgan
Harris - 2B
Hammer
Dunn
Kennedy
Pudge
Guz
Bernadina

It wouldn't be horrible... but its certainly not ideal.

I think it'll be Morgan, Guz Harris at the top as I give this some more thought.

Morgan
Guz
Harris - 3B
Dunn
Hammer
Pudge
Kennedy
Bernadina/Tavaras - RF

As long as they don't put Tavaras in the 2 spot...

Knowing this team Guz will bat third again when Willingham should be.

Oh, no doubt.

Of course, it makes no logical sense to put a slap hitter in the 3 hole... but what can you do about it?

Willie Harris is the Tony Phillips of this decade.
Are you saying Wee Willie is......

Phillips Held Loaded Pipe When Arrested, Police Say
Investigation: Angel player was not targeted in drug case, they say, but was the subject of an informant's tip.
August 12, 1997|CHRIS FOSTER and GEOFF BOUCHER and ROSS NEWHAN, TIMES STAFF WRITERS
ANAHEIM — Tipped off by an informant, Anaheim police say, they found Angel leadoff hitter Tony Phillips early Sunday in a motel room "with a loaded pipe in one hand and a lighter in the other" when they arrested him on felony charges of possession of cocaine.

Phillips allegedly bought $30 worth of crack cocaine in Room 52 of the Ivanhoe Motel on Katella Avenue as the deal was monitored by an undercover officer in the room and surveillance equipment. The informant, who sold Phillips three rocks of cocaine, alleged that she had sold drugs to Phillips in the past, said Anaheim Police Lt. Dave Severson.

Here are the games in which Hammer batted 3rd last year (all under Riggleman)

Two singles in 13 plate appearances.  Batting behind Morgan/Guz in two games, Harris/Orr in the other.  Obviously a small sample size, but maybe that has something to do with it?

Wow I'm in the exact same boat, I have Scutaro in my other fantasy league. Good thing I have Elvis Andrus also!

I like rollins.  I want to beat teams when they have their best players on the field, but I won't be complaining that we won't see him.  Now if it were utley/howard/victorino, I could care less 8)

Washington Nationals (3-4, 3-4 in NL East)
CF Nyjer Morgan
RF Willie Harris
SS Cristian Guzman
1B Adam Dunn
LF Josh Willingham
2B Adam Kennedy
C Ivan Rodriguez
3B Alberto Gonzalez

could they have come up with a worse lineup? Maybe Riggleman should have given Dunn and Willingham a day off, so we could remember this as the worst the team has fielded

The team store has some old line up cards for sale still from back in the day. Some of those line-ups have epic fail written all over them.

I stuck this line up into the baseball musings batting order optimizer.  The good news, this is not that much worse than their theoretical optimized order using these players.  The bad news is it is projected at 4.44 runs.  Optimum order would project to 4.49 at the maximum.  There is only so much you can do with such dross.

So how come no one has started up a YNOT?  There were points of the summer last year where that was the only thing keeping me watching.

that's the great thing about baseball, over 162 games, the best teams will emerge, but in a single game anything can happend

I remember last year we didn't start one up until we won but thats not the case here. I'm sure someone [hammonds] will start one up next week.
