Before we agree to disagree!  If Martis had pitched 7 2/3 innings and given up 1 run, that would have been an exceptional performance by him.  The offense would have still been blameable even in a 3-1 win.

An exceptional performance shouldn't be a requirement to win a baseball game.  Again, when you score so few runs, you usually require an exceptional performance from your pitcher

There's a reason why exceptionalism is the exception.  :|

even if he goes 6 innings, 3 runs ... i understand that doesn't give us a win but it would have put us in a decent situation to win the game.  the offense didn't do their part - especially with all the chances they had - but our starter didn't do his either.
