Darn it what happened to Pedro Ass-tacio?  Now instead of a 2-10 6-something ERA we're facing a 5-8 5-something ERA.  I wanted a gimme

Is there really such a thing as a gimme in baseball?

BTW, Astacio is pitching tomorrow night...

Ladies and gentlemen, gametime is upon us.  Livo is warming up on the mound, Jose Guillen is starting (hmm...is that a good idea?  I predict many fly-outs) and Schneider remains on the bench.

GO NATS!

Uh-oh.  Runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.  Hopefully they're as incompetent with RISP as we have been...

Damn!  Livan does not seem to have his best stuff tonight.  1-0 Papists.

Now...the offensive explosion that the NATIONALS BRING TO THE PLATE is about to be unleashed.

(I predict a 1-2-3 inning)

I don't even think Jose should be playing right now.  If he's hurting so badly that his swing is compromised, all he's going to do is get underneath the ball and pop out all night.  I'd rather have Church start in right.

I'm very worried about Livan tonight.  He does not look on at all.

Seems he's missing on some of his pitches, but his velocity looks okay

Well, at least we can count on GUUZ and Livan to start a rally in the bottom half of the order.

(Actually, given the way they've both been hitting lately, this isn't entirely unlikely.)

Who knows?  Maybe they will both have jacks tonight.  Stranger things have happened.
