Vancouver, right?

http://www.esportsdesk.com/leagues/front_pageesdNew.cfm?leagueID=12159&clientID=2516

You can look into that.  I can't get much information out of that website, but the link said it was from ages 13-99.  There was also this page which seemed like a team locator for all of B.C. but you could probably narrow the search be closest to you and then contact a team about what league they play in:

http://www.baseball.bc.ca/page.php?pg=9

The good news is, you have a group of guys who already play together.  Maybe you could get enough of them to make a team and join a league?

Thanks! I think next year I might go for it!

This year we're touring a lot. So we can't be a team because when we're out of town on tour we're six men down.

You might want to research and see if there's a league close to you and go to the games to see what you're getting into.  I'd also monitor the league's website as you can usually tell how well organized they are by the information they post on their websites.  Stats are less important than the scheduling and communication.

But hey, any chance to switch from softball to baseball is a win in my book.

Incidentally, we won our scrimmage game yesterday 9-5.  We look a lot better than we did last year and I am really looking forward to winning more games this year (and I really think we will).

Opening night on Tuesday and the entire team is eager to get on the field!

Great pointers. I feel like a baby doing the opposite.

it's great to see you still playing Minty.  I 'retired' from softball last year.  I'm in my late 40's and in good shape, but i was still the old guy on my team and after a few weeks of being an extra hitter, and pulling an oblique, i figured it was time to put down the glove.  I look 'forward' to joining an over-55 league in a few years. :)

Won the season opener 9-7. They had 2 runners on in the last inning with their big stick on deck and got their 2 hole hitter to ground back to the pitcher.

Had a rough night in the field, but had a couple nice AB's. This should be the best team I've been on if we can all stay on the field. It's deep and talented. Speed and power. Just gotta get that 3B to stop kicking it around...

There's probably a 45+ league out there for you!  :P

Watch yourself fools, I'm joining a softball beer league as a designated hitter/closer.  Ain't a fence above 45N that can contain my power.  :az:

Ugly loss last night.  Outfield "defense" did us in.  Plus we faced a guy throwing in the low 80's and we're all old duffers.  Not much of a chance last night...   :?

Played a fun, four team, double elimination slo-pitch tournament today. 5 inning games. Went 4/9 with 3 reached on errors, 3 runs scored, 3 RBIs, no errors, and a couple nice plays at 2nd and at catcher. We went 3-0 and won a Nelson Cruz bobblehead. Feeling great, but it's not nearly as competitive as the league I signed up for. Good spring training day though. My legs are tiiiiiiired.

Gave away three extra outs in the top of the first in last night's game and allowed the opposition to get a 12-0 lead.  But we scored 3 in the 5th and 6 in the 6th to pull within three.  Still lost the game but the final was 12-9.  All around fun game to be a part of - we never gave up and believed we would win in the end (and, in fact, loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh with two outs!).

Plus, I played SS last night....

Is modified pitch where the pitcher can't lob the ball (a la, slow pitch) but can't wind up and fire it?

First day of the league. Rough day at the plate. 0/3 with a reached on error and a run scored. Made some key putouts but also airmailed a double play turn attempt, costing a bag. Felt good to be out there!
