freak those stupid nages in Miami

When will these pieces of crap have to apologize for wining and dining Castro?

(Image removed from quote.)

At least Ozzie just paid him a half-compliment.

Is that a real photo?  Why the hell would htey allow themselves to be photographed with Castro?

Cespedes reminds me of Harper a bit. Watching his ABs he swings so hard every time, so much raw power, then if he puts one on the ground he hustles hard and he's pretty fast.

Those fossils on Calle Ocho need to just deal with the fact that it's no longer 1960 (or the 1980s for that matter).  And what the hell did anyone expect to come out of Guillen's mouth?  He was already openly BFFs with Hugo Chavez.

Ozzie Guillen was suspended five games by the Miami Marlins in advance of a news conference this morning where he explained his explosive comments about Fidel Castro, words that have set off protests in the middle of the community where the Miami Marlins have built their new stadium and among fans the team hope to woo.

I had a friend of mine whose parents are refugees compare guillen praising castro to praising Osama or Hitler in any other city - I don't see how he keeps his job

Last I checked Castro hasn't been commiting gencoide and while claims of sponsoring terrorism started around 1982 there is a not a lot of evidence. Granted facts don't matter when you inflame disgruntled refugees.

those refugees are ~30% of the population of miami, telling them castro isn't so bad may not help the gate

It's a bit disheartening that Ozzie is getting suspended for comments like that. It's not hard to see the context he was speaking in.

Yes, it is hard to see the context, because the original interview is behind a paywall.

A week after signing first baseman Joey Votto to a massive extension, the Reds agreed to a six-year, $72.5 million contract with second baseman Brandon Phillips, sources told ESPN Baseball Insider Jim Bowden.

I think it would be sad. His statement, taken in context, isn't that bad.

White Sox game in Cleveland postponed for "inclement weather" (aka snow).
