Modern-Day "Moonlight Graham" Gets a Second Chance
« Topic Start: September 29, 2012, 03:05:14 PM »
Great story!  This is almost enough to make me a Marlins fan ... for one day:

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/09/27/batter-beaned-in-only-mlb-appearance-getting-2nd-shot/?iref=storysearch

(Greenberg and Liston were interviewed on CNN a few minutes ago).

I like how he has to donate his salary through the Marlins Foundation so that Loria can get the tax deduction.

it's nice.

though, there are hundreds of players in the minors that would love to get that chance too, I'm sure some feel slighted that something like this couldn't happen to them (obviously the getting hit in the head thing sucks).

okay.  but the guy hasn't played in years and wasn't busting his butt for a team's organization all year long down in the minors.

one can make the case that it's one huge publicity stunt.

Anyone catch the espn story on this?  Greenberg suffered for a long time after the hit and got cut by a coach who thought he was lying about his vertigo. He ended facing the same pitcher in independent league ball and got a single off of him.

batting now against dickey, Dream On was his walkup music

struck out on 3 pitches, 1 looking, two swinging.

Ozzie has a sick sense of humor for putting him up against RA DICKEY.
