Certainly a great pitcher.   But was he a hard thrower?   I don't know.   My only memory of Spahn is when he pitched for the Mets at the end of his career.

I think (IMHO) most lefties throw "hooks".    Spahn had a great curve as did Koufax, Ford, etc.
