We won't know till he comes to spring training. More than likely he starts the season in Double A

I know the offseason hasn't even begun yet, but has there even been a mention that Rendon will get a shot in ST?

He'll go to ST with the MLB team but I doubt he'll stick after the minor league camp opens. He needs to play more than anything else.

We need to see how he handles the competition at the Arizona Fall League.

He was in ST this spring, I fail to see why they wouldn't bring him next year.

He's on the 40 man, so, he'll be in ST. But whether he gets a shot somewhere is a different question. If LaRoche leaves or Morse is traded, I could see Rendon in LF.

They played him at SS during last year's Spring Training. *shrugs* I just want to see his bat. I could care less how they get him in the lineup.

I suspect you can see Rendon in Harrisburg for the first half of next season. He only played a month last year, and hit about .170 in AA. I saw him once, and it looked like an honest .170. If he's this good, he'll learn. Might appear make it to the Nats in September, although there were not many extra starts this year for guys like Eury Perez and Corey Brown.

This was an interesting article - Rendon says he's received criticism that he looks lazy on defense.  Says he's working on changing that perception.

How do you look lazy on defense?  And then how do you fix that?  I thought his glove was supposed to be very advanced at 3B.

hasn't cano gotten similar criticism on defense too? Maybe he is just one of those special players that make it look effortless.

No that's what makes you win gold gloves.

#Nationals Rendon loves fastballs. Seeing more off-speed pitches now. Timing them much better. Especially those that get too much plate.

Ah...just a season of AA and AAA. Then we see Rendon. Of course, maybe the Nats will be in that amazing pickle of having a powerful starting lineup plus Lombo / Moore / Shark / Tracy...I love that comment from last April: Rendon swings like Hank Aaron. And where would you put Henry Aaron? (almost anyplace he wants??)

You put Hank 4th, because God forbid we move Zimmerman out of the 3 hole ;)

#AFL12 Show Me Something I Didn't Know About You---Nate Freiman plays very good defense at 1B, Anthony Rendon takes too many good pitches.

Jim Callis says that Rendon, if healthy, could be ready for a mid season call up.

I love Rendon but the injuries will always scare me until he has a couple of healthy seasons in a row.

I hope they let him play a little bit of 2B this season just to see how he does.  He needs a full year of playing in the minors and staying healthy IMO.  It will be good for his confidence to do that.  If he's in DC, he'll be sitting on the bench a lot.  He'll probably get the call up once they expand to 40 later in the year and could help us then.

Who knows, maybe Espi has a Desmond like breakout and we don't have a spot for him.  Maybe he's trade bait for an elite pitching prospect.  So many things can happen.

The only way that Rendon will play everyday next year is if Danny plays like crap and Rendon is on fire in AA or if Zimm, Espi, or Desi get injured.

I meant he needs to play in the minors every day.  Don't bring him up until they expand the 25 man roster to 40.  He needs the AB's in Harrisburg.
