My character is a high elf. I always play as an elf in the Elder Scrolls games for some reason. I'm going the battlemage route like Chief.

I played a Bosmer in one of my Oblivion playthroughs for a sneak/archer character, but on the whole I've just never liked the appearance of elves in TES.  I know that's a stupid reason not to play one, esp when you're in first-person view most of time anyway, but dammit, that's how I feel

Khajiit actually look really interesting.  Never played one in any previous TES game and now that they have claws and unlimited night-eye (as well as plenty of sneak-related buffs), I may actually earmark them for my inevitable second or third playthrough :-[

You make a potion to fortify enchanting, then enchant a pair of gloves to fortify alchemy, loop that until you get to a ridiculous level, then make a potion and a ring to fortify smithing and smith an awesome sword.

Abusing Alchemy was actually a very common trick in TES III: Morrowind, to the point where you could use it to beat the main quest in about 15 minutes, but they nerfed alchemy in Oblivion so that you couldn't do stuff like that anymore.  I'm sure it's similarly limited in Skyrim, but even being able to do a loop like this to reach the max level of something very early on would be quite powerful.

Well wouldn't you still need to farm the mats?

And secondly, why not just use console commands to give yourself the gear or just toggle god mode?

Kinda wish I hadn't read that. Oh well, I won't cheese like that.

Alright, killed another dragon, one was hanging out near the warrior/mage pillar things. I'm heading off on my first Stormcrow quest. freak these godless imperials.

Yes.

Shrug.  Everybody's "line" is different.  Some people wouldn't see any problem with something like this.  If Bethesda left it in the game, it must be "okay".  Personally, I'm with Kevrock - I probably wouldn't do this until I've done several "legit" playthroughs or maybe just to screw around and try it, but reload after I did it.  But that's what makes TES great - it's a sandbox, and you can play however you see fit.  I found an alteration spell called "transmute" that lets me turn iron ore into silver, and silver into gold.  Depending on how you look at it, this completely breaks the game's economy as I now essentially have my own money printer.  But it's part of the game.

I find it odd that they made the dead body physics in Skyrim so comical after how relatively realistic they were in Oblivion.  Once I've killed someone, I can easily lift them above my head like the hulk.

Not sure how many of you played or modded Oblivion, but has anyone else noticed how many of the new features in Skyrim were popular Oblivion mods?

Ugh, game just froze (360) right after a fight with a bandit chief on my way up to the first Stormcrow quest. Should have saved immediately after but was collection my loot.

Guess that's it for tonight. Have to turn in early, work has been a nag and it's only Tuesday.

It's fun going on foot to new areas. I found three caves to clear out later and a sunken ship. Awesome game.

Hopefully with the massive popularity of this game (3.4m sales in the first two days, plus however many digital copies were sold - Steam doesn't disclose those numbers), Bethesda will be better about releasing regular patches to address bugs and gameplay issues.  I've had a few CTDs (crash to desktop) so far but not too bad.  There's a tweak circulating for PC that supposedly helps with this, but who knows.

Yeah, I love that.  Apparently there are carriages in most towns that will take you to places you haven't been yet (other towns, at least), but I find it more fulfilling to go the long way at least once.  I even walked back from a fort to Whiterun once cuz my horse disappeared on me (was massively overburdened with loot).  Took about 20 (real) minutes

Had my first "Dragon Warrior" moment - aka, you're definitely not high enough level to beat this yet, come back later:

Funny thing is that his dwarf mage buddy (standing behind me in this picture) is already more than a match for me, so he's just icing on the death cake.  And yes I was hulksmashed immediately after this screenshot was taken

It was pretty cool.  I finally ended up beating the pair - destruction "impact" perk helped massively with the Falmer mage.  I kinda cheesed the centurion...  lured him to a door he couldn't fit through and sat back shooting fireballs at him until he died   Still had to be careful though since he has some kind of godzilla ice breath.

I wasn't kidding when i said "hulksmashed"

Just captured a bandit's soul with a black soul gem I found earlier.  The effect was pretty damn sweet.  Made me feel like:

:( I don't know that I really like this game.  Mages are my favorite class to play and I just can't grasp how to do it.

I'm level 12 now. I saw the Graybeards when I was level 8 or 9. It was a pain in the ass to find them. I wondered all over those mountains. LOL!
