So, what 3 days away now? Which non-signing is going to piss us off the most? :hang:

Any top pick they fail to sign makes this draft an epic failure.

saying "sign purke" once is a reasonable post - it needs to be said and it needs to be done. Goodwin is bluffing  IMO because he's shown he's just not cut out to be a student (not everyone is ). I don't think he wants to go back to school.

All the Boras clients are already signed. He can't hammer out that many deals with only a minute left. They are just waiting to announce it so as not to piss off MLB.

Maybe our benevolent and loving Chief will put a countdown timer in a prominent location so we can heighten our anxiety to excessively inappropriate (though normal for us) levels.

If he doesn't it will be a fail of epic proportions.

Didn't he do that for the Strasburg signing?

Getting set up on Twitter is much better. Between the guys at Baseball America, ESPN, and MLB/MiLB.com, you get signings pretty quickly

(also there are random beatwriters and guys who cover the minors that are pretty plugged in)

Makes me think that Rendon and Goodwin and Mayer are wrapped up then.

Time to close!

btw, apparently there are some rumblings that Pittsburgh may be able to get Josh Bell signed. That'd b e a great get for them.

Still like our haul better, if we get all four signed.

They're saying Bell really wants to go to college and he would have to turn down some serious jack to do so. It's not an easy decision this kid have to make.

If the reports are true, IMO, it's a very easy decision to make.

If he's offered $3mill plus, you take the money. It's just not smart to pass on that cash. He can go back to school at any time. He can take online classes. If in 5 years he realizes his heart isn't in baseball, or he's flopped, he can go to school. And have millions of dollars in the bank.

I understand the important of education. But $3mill plus sets you up well for the rest of your life and is enough to pay for any school in the country whenever you choose to go to school.

It's pretty standard for draft picks to get their college education picked up. High school guys get the full 4-years, while collegians get the balance of the years they have left.
