Don't like the conga on that.  not enough piano.  I saw Zevon do two sets in club in boston in the late '90s. One set was just him and a piano, the other he had a guitarist with him.  he opened the piano set with "Excitable Boy" and the guitar set with "Lawyers, Guns, and Money."

I like the fact that it was on network television.

Man all these changing reports are making me worry that we'll only get like 2 inches.

TWC says snow accumulating 1-3". What?

They, accuweather, and the local tv/radio weather guys are just awful.

There are no changing reports from people that matter.  CWG has us up closer to 6-8" now and NWS just updated it's forecast to put us in the 8"+ range.

Capital Weather Gang:

Quote
1:30 p.m.: In light of the high snowfall rates expected, we have increased our snowfall prediction of 3-6" around D.C. (and just to the southeast) to 4-8". North and west of D.C. we're upping the 4-8" forecast to 5-10". Locally heavier amounts cannot be ruled out in a few areas.

Snow is coming down heavy out here, very windy as well.  And there's a nice layer of ice under the snow.  Be careful to those of you driving home tonight.

Okay, snow in Manassas has virtually covered everything in less than 10 minutes.  This is freaky snow and it's supposed to get much heavier later on.

It's somewhere between sleet and hail now (basically raining chucks of ice) in Alexandria now, about a half inch of ice balls coating everything.

.75 inches of snow in less than an hour in Manassas.  Just coming down heavier by the minute.  3 hours this intense is going to produce something pretty amazing.

Thundersnow with ice pellets subsided - I'll check the buildup after my nap.

Round 1 with the snowblower done.  About 1.5 inches already.  Getting close to whiteout conditions.

Sloped driveway that can hold 6-8 cars and faux stone walkway.  Takes about 20 minutes to do a good job on it.  I'll probably go out once every 60-90 minutes.

1.5 inches was a conservative guess.  I just measured 2" on the deck and it was clear until about 3:15.

ABC7 says the storm is moving a bit faster than predicted, should be more toward 5" than 10" before it's done.

Doug Hill was the last one to acknowledge it was going to snow.  He's extraordinarily talented at always being wrong about the forecast.

They replaced him on his own channel with clips from Accuweather in State College

Accuweather is apparently really terrible.

Just an hour ago, it said no snow until later tonight, with temps staying just above freezing and keeping this thing a rain storm.

We're currently being pelted with snow. :hammer:

Just saw a guy completely give up on the concept of lanes and head down the middle of the PW parkway at about 15 mph.  It's getting silly dangerous out there.
