Also surprised that Villone got his first scoreless outing months (at least it seems that way), and that Bergmann has been really bad lately.
Villone let a crap ton of inherited baserunners to score.

He only allowed three inherited runners to score.

Bergmann has decided that the weather has been too hot so he has been spending time on the beach lately.

Yeah, but he let all of his inherited runners score.

His boys Sosa and Villone are safe - no worries.

too optimistic. If Detwiler pitches well in AAA tonight they should call him up to replace Balester.

They should bring Ross up as a 6th starter. When a guy gets a short start like Lannan did, he can come out of the bullpen later that week.

I've actually thought that. When you only pitch for an inning or two as a starter, why shouldn't you come out of the bullpen, if needed.

God, another 100+ loss season... Another #1 pick...  :|

This level of concentrated, sustained badness might be unrivaled in all professional sports.  :'(

Why isn't Morse starting every game?

Rig is in love with vets like Ronnie Belliard and Jorge Sosa. I can't believe Rizzo hasn't told him to play the young guys.

i can't believe alberto gonzalez got the start today.  he killed two HUGE rallies today and then our pitching imploded.  i can't believe he's on a major league roster.

you can say the same thing for several guys on the team including Balester, Sosa, Villone, Bergmann, Bard, etc.

Gonzalez should ride the pine. Why isn't Belliard starting?
