Traffic tips for tomorrow's 4th of July game
« Topic Start: July 03, 2014, 10:25:24 AM »
Most of the area around the Mall (including Memorial Bridge) will be shut down to traffic the entire day.  Plan accordingly because we have an early day tomorrow.  On the bright side...the weather looks like it will be 74 at first pitch.

Remember the parking meters near the ballpark ARE ENFORCED on holidays. Lot of people got ticketed and/or towed on Memorial Day when they didn't pay the meters.

Pro tip: In past years, if you used the Parkmobile app on a holiday, it charged you no meter fees but did charge the 45¢ transaction fee, yet the system recorded you as having paid. (I know this because last year I paid using the app and didn't get a ticket, while the guy in front of me didn't pay and did get a ticket.) It's well worth 45¢ to avoid a ticket! No guarantee it'll let us off as cheaply this year, of course.

Edited: Channel 4 said DC just announced they will not enforce the meters near the ballpark: http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/DDOT-Turning-Off-Meters-Around-Nationals-Park-for-July-4-Game-265729601.html
