I agree. I honestly see him getting Burrell-like numbers in the future. Maybe not as many strikeouts, but I'm not so sure about that.

Zim can hit for a higher average than Burrell and with less Ks. Zim can hit for more RBIs too.

I wish this was the Phillies or Mets playoff chances we were killing.

Dukes alone could probably take on 5 of the Dodgers.

Dukes vs. Manny would be something I'd probably pay to see. Broxton is another big guy on their team.

This isn't even killing the Dodgers' hopes of getting to the playoffs, since the DBacks are doing so poorly. It is probably killing their confidence of winning anything if they do get in, though.

Harris singled to right, Zimmerman and Dukes scored.

Broxton looks like a pansy. Willie Harris could take that fool.

Yeah, good god Broxton is a huge MF'er.  That would be like Tyson vs Butterbean.

If we still have a big lead like this in the 8th or 9th inning we should bring in Colome to peg Jeff Kent with a 97 MPH fastball.

QFT

Colome should be our designated head hunter. I'd pay $1.25mm for that.

I don't know about the RBI. If Burrell was in the 3 or 4 spot on that team, he'd have a lot more RBI. Zimmerman will strike out more if he gets more aggressive in the future, which I kind of hope he does. The average you might be right about.

Nice outing by Shairon Martis tonight in his first start with the Clippers since competing in the Olympics for the Netherlands:

6 IP 4 H 1 R 1 ER 2 BB 6 K.

I hope we get a look at him in September.

Diamond Backs 4 game loosing skid, this will make 7 for the Dodgers; the Nats might have a chance if we were in the NL West

Then replace Colome after that one pitch.

Why is Carpenter so damn stupid? He is already talking as if this game is over. It's the 6th inning Bob and we are the worst team in baseball. Please STFU.

And btw, Milledge is a wannabe tough guy. I'm sure he would have charged the mound if he was a bigger guy. That was my point in saying he needs to learn how to control himself.

Has Lannan thrown his curve tonight?

I've seen pretty much all change-ups and fastballs (4-seam & 2-seam).

The hook had been working for him lately but I guess he felt like didn't need it tonight or he didn't have a feel for it.

The Los Angeles Dojjers at Los Angeles really haven't been able to hit all year.

We don't know how many beers Carpenter has had.  After all, he's now under contract for 2009.

He has thrown 11 curveballs, 13 Change-ups, 6 sliders, and 74 fastballs

Maybe they told him not to throw it as much. He's actually pitched less innings this year than last, but they could be worrying about the Nat-loving injury bug.
