we need more athletes on this team. the only athletic players we have are Dukes (first and foremost), Zimmerman, A. Gonz, Hernandez, and Harris.
we need more jerks too. we have way too many "nice guys". this is the most calm and lackadaisical team I have ever seen. By the way they carry themselves you would think that they are a .500 team.

we need winning players here that can help teach this team how to win. we need a complete attitude change and that starts with a new manager.

two seam fastball moves down and away. a two seamer is essentially a sinker.

not many sinkers just go straight down, they usually move in towards a RH batter too (thrown by a RHP).

Not like that pitch.

A sinker is a different grip than a two-seam fastball.  Gameday logged the pitch wrong.

Don't take my word for it and don't take Gameday's word for it.  Watch it yourself and you'll see that was NOT a two-seam fastball.

no both the offense and pitching gets the blame today.  he gave up 4 runs.  just like detwiler last night.  the offense messed up big time too, but still you can't give up 4 runs in 5 innings.

In order for us to have won this game, the pitchers would have to have given up 2 or fewer runs.  That doesn't happen very often, even with good pitchers.

Dukes is an intense guy but I get the sense that he isn't too vocal in the clubhouse. We don't have any outspoken leaders in the clubhouse. The guys who say the most are bum veterans like Ron Villone.

I just don't know. Perhaps I should just get back in the regular use of LSD and pretend it is all okay.

great AB by Kearns. too bad that fluke RBI hit he had earlier will buy him at least another month.

hey your starting pitcher is expected to do better than 5 ip - 4 runs.

hey your offense is supposed to score more than three runs, especially if you have bases loaded, zero outs, TWICE!

But it's still a fastball. There are a bazillion varieties, but it's a fastball. That's what Johnson throws. Yes, some bite more than others.....but it's a fastball.

yeah, but look who came up it's two guys that shouldn't be with this club.  thats on our FO/ownership for not cutting two terrible deals made by our former GM.

martis and the offense get the blame.

he also called martis the most inconsistent starter we have

if he were wild due to lack of command that's one thing ... but most nights he's just nibbling too much - a lot like tony armas.
