Playing on the road doomed the Nationals.

This just made me look up the home/road split.  I had no idea our road record was so bad.  I guess we should have seen thei post-All-Star break record coming....

You really think he's going to get traded?

The team is getting inquiries. Stupid not to trade him for whatever you can get, especially if you are playing Harris in the infield.

As for Martin's injury, again, I've had the same thing for a year. Some days it feels perfect, other days I can't get out of bed. Surgery usually just makes it worse. It's legit.

This is one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball and we can barely touch them.

Once upon a time some people here were in love with Harris.

People are trashing Kennedy but he has a better OBP than Morgan, Desmond, Bernadina and Rodriguez. He's only two points lower than Guzman as well.

So if you think any of those players are worth anything, then you'd have to say Kennedy is worth just as much.

Once upon a time Willie Harris was only an OF and actually would hit.

I still like Willie as a defensive replacement in the OF and 9th inning PH.

The only two starters I see in that bunch are Desmond (needs to finish the year) and Pudge (only because Flores is basically not going to play again).

People that doomed the Nationals.

(Image removed from quote.)  (Image removed from quote.)

You can keep posting images of the Lerners as money grubbing, cheap ass owners but as of right now, if the season ended today the team ranking in payrolls making the playoffs would be:

#1 - Yankees
#7 - White Sox
#10 - Giants
#15 - Braves
#19 - Reds
#21 - Rays
#27 - Rangers
#29 - Padres

Seven of the top ten payrolls would not make the playoffs.  The Mariners at #9 have a worse record than the Nats, the Cubs at #3 - MORE THAN TWICE THE PAYROLL OF WASHINGTON - are only three games ahead of the Nats in the standings and the Red Sox at $162+ million are looking like they won't make the playoffs.

Money doesn't always translate.  It only works for the Yankees.

.324 average in July, 11-11 SB, and like you said, his OBP is real solid.

I attribute his defensive issues to lack of playing time in June and his BABIP is .280.

Well, low payroll clearly ain't working for us!  I'd rather err on the side of spending more money!!!

I hope they don't pull Ross already.

He should be able to go 80-90 pitches.

Or you could err on the side of spending less money like the Rays, Rangers and Padres.

Had something close to it myself.  It's pretty annoying for it to suddenly flare up for no discernible reason.  Of course mine turned into chipped vertebrae, multiple ruptured discs, and serious nerve damage, but that's because I didn't take any time off from lacrosse.

most still are.

but not so much so to approve of crappy play.

but we all know that while Harris is the ultimate American...he's just not cut out for significant playing time.

he's a super-sub, and that is probably as good as he'll ever be.
