Nieves is a fine back-up catcher. Bard is not because he is fat, slow, and terrible defensively. It's not like he's a great hitter or something.

Nieves is a fine back-up catcher. yet you think he should be starting every day, instead of being a back-up catcher.

yeah, cause Nieves blazes the basepaths.

Bard doesn't need to be a great hitter. He's a better hitter than Nieves. and while Nieves is better defensively, Bard isn't as "terrible" as you say he is.

Bard is 6'3" 215. what a Dmitri Young-esque fat-ass.  Nieves is 5'11" 190, just for the record.

I sense much hate in you.

the fact is, neither Bard, or Nieves is a starter-catcher quality player. But our starting Catcher is injured, so we gotta make do with what we have.
