It's easy to tell that it's getting late in the season...published attendance for last night was 25,735 but by the start of the second inning I doubt if there were more than 15,000 in the stands (it got a bit fuller in later innings though)...lot of STH/PPH/allocation-holders probably not bothering to turn up, I would think. And the stands are starting to de-populate earlier - I stayed through the sixth inning and the exodus to the Metrorail station was considerable (a logistical matter I have to keep in mind since they start cutting back on the trains available once the match is over if a lot of people leave early).

So the Nats score 6 runs in each of two back-to-back matches and lose both heavily. The hitting and fielding hereabouts are basically only a Bayer Aspirin headache...the pitching, especially the starting rotation, is an Excedrin one.
