It's a really old game, I don't feel that downloading it is pirating.

Looks awesome- let me know if it gives you a virus

Reminds me of the old Might & Magic series.  I spent hours playing through M&M III on more than one occasion.  Such a detailed game.

Not sure exactly how aSoIaF is #1, I find it tedious to read on occasion, but WoT is better IMO.

Not sure if there's one of these already... but thought I'd start up a 'Books' thread to discuss the latest books you've read, and a place for everyone to recommend what we should be reading.

Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman

Lots of depressing stuff in this one, especially the description of Pat dying/after death... but it's worth it if you want a gritty portrayal of how messed up people can get when the crap hits the fan and you're in a firefight.

The guy that wrote it, also wrote Into the Wild.

Worth the read.

This thread is worth checking out if you're looking for books about baseball: http://www.wnff.net/index.php/topic,17042.msg528536/topicseen.html#msg528536

I read two books this summer that were recommended in that thread: Lords of the Realm and Heart of the Game. Both were excellent. More recently I've read the first two books of the Song of Fire and Ice series, which were quite good. I'm trying to get through the books before the series comes to HBO.

I then read Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. It was so good I was embarrassed I hadn't already read it. Now I'm working on The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. It's a long page-turner set in the 12th century about a prior and a builder trying to build a cathedral.

Definitely.  Have you read any of Krakauer's other works?  "Into Thin Air" is great, but quite depressing.

No wonder I couldn't find it in the search.

Chief, feel free to merge the threads.

If somebody wants to bump the other one I will.  I've never been very good at using the forum search.

My favorite lunch breaks are the ones when I can get off campus and browse the used book store.  Picked up a copy of Les Mis for $6 today.  I'm trying to get caught up on my classics.  I'm strating with this one, Count of Monte Christo and Three Musketeers.  And go from there.

Those are the three I went with once I finished Dostoyevsky/Tolstoy.  Try to get unabridged versions as they are such a drastic difference from the modern American novel.
