When did AG ever play 1B?
I can recall him playing 1st in place on an off day for Adam Dunn.

It was in Milwaukee for a game. The day before Willie Harris was at 3rd.

Riggleman had some odd position decisions.

Utley stealing second then third then scoring on a sac fly is pretty embarrassing.

After watching the Boston Red Sox implosion of last year and all their chemistry problems, I'll give them 2009 Nationals this; Those guys played together. Win or lose, they were together!!!

That smirking chimp.   He should have been beaned while he was standing on third base.  >:(

8/26/2012 - Adam LaRoche assumes he hits a home run and gets tagged out during his trot.  Jayson Werth stops at third for the same reason.

I'm sure somebody posted this already, but I don't have time to go through this thread.

How about Adam Jones hitting an inside-the-park home run against the Nats thanks to Nyjer Morgan's bonehead play?

Nyjer Morgan was a good national, not a bad one

Uh... In 2009, definitely.

In 2010? You do remember the brawl, hitting the Cardinals catcher, throwing the glove down, etc?

The cardinals catcher was bush league, but the stuff vs. the Marlins was completely justified. So much BS that Volstad threw at him. I'm happy he fought for himself.

Leaving aside the question about whether Nyjer Morgan's positives outweigh his negatives, Nyjer's throwing down his glove in that game needlessly gave Adam Jones an inside-the-park homer when otherwise he would have gotten just a double or a triple. That was a bonehead play---no argument. Just as Jayson Werth and Adam LaRoche not realizing that ball hit in Philly was still in play was a bonehead play, too. Bonehead plays are enough to qualify for induction into this thread.

Are you talking about the game where Nyjer deliberately ran into the catcher and missed home plate? Several Nats fans
went to the Marlins' board to apologize for his actions.

That was the Cardinals game. In the Marlins game, Nyjer ran into the catcher but it was a clean play.

:lmao: Morgan was an embarrassment and sand bagging. Good thing Werth ran him out of Natstown.

In the Marlins game it was 0-0 in the top of the 10th. He would have easily scored had he slid.

Its easy to say that when you have the benefit of slow mo replay. Sliding into Home plate is not a fun option when the catcher is blocking the plate. If the catcher doesn't want to get hit, then stop blocking the freaking plate. Its pretty simple. I hate catchers who complain about that when a catcher gets injured. Stop blocking the plate and let the runner have a chance to slide through the plate.

Sure, but he thought he'd knocked the ball over the fence for a homer.  He looked around, didn't see it, presumed it gone.
