Okay, if Bergmann falls off the edge of the Earth after 75 pitches, what's the count for Redding?

Bergy has pitched great lately.

I understand the whole added pressure thing, but the main guys that have been getting on base have been Guzman and Dukes, by the time you go through Milledge and Young, the inning is over and there is no chance for Flores to get a chance to drive them in.  So either you got to move Guzman and Dukes back in the order to 2-3 or move Flores up to 3 or 4, if you want to give him a chance to drive in runs.
Flores has had a ton of RBI opportunities in the 5-6 hole. Much more than Dmitri has gotten in the 4 hole.

6th inning.  He usually has a great fifth inning like he just did (.176 avg/.294 slg) then in the 6th inning it goes to (.353/.745)

I understand that, but he would have many more oppurtunities to get RBIs in the 4 spot.  I am sayin if its between Dmitri and Flores at 4 hole, why keep the guy that isnt getting runners in vs the guy that is.  Isnt it the "cleanup" spot, and Im not talking about the dinner plate.

He has some really nasty pitches.  Those breaking balls are breaking our balls.

I knew he dies in the 6th, but does his pitch count matter?  He's at 74, Santana is 67.

The pitch count statistics are broken down by every 25 pitches (1-25, 25-50, etc.), I usually try to correlate that with the statistics from inning splits to determine a better breakdown.  Some pitchers pitch count is fairly consistent with the beginning of certain inning like Redding, which is the 6th.  If Redding gets out of this inning, they should pull him, because based on the stats is fairly certain he will get pummled according to pitch count and inning.

Redding with a quality start.  Do we bring him back out for another inning?

Another good at-bat for Dukes.  You've got to bunt here.

Without listing all the statistics, I would argue no.  The only stat Ill put out there, statistically in his career, Redding's work inning is the 7th.  This season, on the other hand, we has only faced 9 batters in the 7th, half of them have reached base.

Great running by Dukes and Milledge, RISP with zero outs... SURELY we must score here.

Nice analysis, but don't call me Shirley.

Intentional walk to Dmitri.

See I dont think he was too pressured in that situation, Flores approached that at-bat just like any other.  He made good contact, just happened to go the wrong direction, but it was a home run approach.
Getting behind 0-2 hurt him a little. He has to find a way to get ahead more or at least stay even in the count as opposed to always being down 0-2 and being at a pitcher's mercy.

I agree, it will come to him eventually.  Flores seems to handle pressure pretty well for such a young guy, I cant wait to see him in a year or two.
