You must be pretty hard up if you use one of my observations to prove a point :)

This is by far our worst average attendance for a Cubs visit ever - average attendance at each visit compared:

41,125 - 2005/RFK (13th-15th May, Friday-through-Sunday)
34,771 - 2006/RFK (21st-23rd July, Friday-through-Sunday)
34,706 - 2008/Nats Park (25th-27th April, Friday-through-Sunday)
31,287 - 2009/Nats Park (16th-19th July, Thursday-through-Sunday)
28,980 - 2007/RFK (2nd-5th July, Monday-through-Thursday)
18,086 - 2010 to date/Nats Park (23rd-24th August, Monday/Tuesday)

Several factors combine to explain this:

- this is the latest in the season we've hosted the Cubs (at a point when interest in the Nats tends to flag due to the team losing and Redskins season on the way)
- this is the first time since the Nats' arrival here that the Cubs visit hasn't been at a weekend or included a holiday
- weather (middling chances of rain forecast for both nights, although ultimately all we got was a few stray drops, plus a bit of mist last night - enough to hurt walk-up ticket sales significantly though)
