What is a player-manager?  The Pads announcers are saying F-Rob was one.

There are some GM's out there cursing loudly right about now.
Livan did it on purpose because he didn't want to get traded.

at least he didn't whine about his hammy being sore and put himself on the Disabled List to avoid being traded.

he did it the manly way, and just pitched like crap. :P

Yeah but he hurt his team in the process.

Isn't it a manager who also plays as well?

No actually a player-manager is a person who is an ACTIVE PLAYER who is also serving as Manager.  They don't do that anymore.

Yes, Frank was a player-manager for the Cincinatti Reds.

Achem's Razor - all things being equal, the simplest answer is usually the right one - I believe that he did not want to be traded, but I don't believe he tanked it at all ... I think it's exactly what he said it was - a sore knee ...
