Very well could. They probably need the pitching more than the Jays.

Nope.  Trade came with $2 million bonus and a no-trade clause.

So maybe it's Reyes to San Diego for pitching.

This trade doesn't make sense for the Blue Jays with the no trade part.  They still need pitching.

Why would two "seller" teams make a deal?  Think, PC.

Harold Reynolds speculated that Reyes might go back to the mets as they don't believe that the rockies will keep him.

I could see this but still doesn't help the Mets.  They need so much hitting.

What are they going to pay him with? Bitcoins?

Tulo to the Blue Jays. They were high on Kimbrel. Might have just cleared the way for us.

Susan Slusser, SF Chronicle, sees Royals and Nationals as frontrunners for Ben Zobrist.

Means Span or Zim are done for the season and Rizzo knows it. Zobrist to RF, Harper to CF, Werth to LF. Taylor to the bench as a defensive replacement.

drachmas.  They've cornered the market on drachmas, betting on Greece being kicked out of the Eurozone.

Zobrist would be so, so excellent.

ok, ive thought it over and i'm gonna call this one.

Reds will want too much for Chapman, and the $$ factor in the Kimbrel deal will be enough to mitigate what they request in return, so we acquire Kimbrel.  Some combo of Difo, Lopez, Cole, Pivetta, other prospects.

I then think we go after Prado instead of Zobrist.  Less competition, and despite the Fish trying to ratchet up his value, this is who we get.

So, Prado and Zobrist.  If Span has injuries, Prado in LF and Harp in CF.  If Zimm continues to have injuries then Prado fills in on the IF.

Long shot options?  I could see packaging Ramos and a prospect to upgrade at C.  And possibly a low level trade to get a little more BP depth for the 6th and 7th.

deeznatz, almighty observer of all things Nats and visionary personnel guru, has spoken.  Let it be done.

Rizzo just acquired Ryan Zimmerman and Jayson Werth for the 24th and 25th men on the Nats bench
