I love the kid but people penciling Hood into the OF in 2013 need to really, really temper their expectations.
He's being brought along at the proper pace and may need an entire year at each level in the minors before hitting DC.
A 2014 call-up seems more likely to me and that's way too far in the future to make any predictions on our roster.
RD is correct though, Hood is not a CF or a lead-off candidate.
Thank you. Not trying to be negative, but I think people need to realize just how raw that Hood is. He has a TON of athletic ability. This guy would be a starting receiver for Alabama. Tons of athleticism. But baseball is a sport of skill. These skills take time to learn. Hood has the talent, but he needs the seasoning.
2014 sounds good to me too. Right about that time, we'll be looking to dump Werth like the Jays dumped Rios and Wells.
