#Nats placing LHP Doug Slaten on DL. RHP Craig Stammen coming up from AAA Syracuse, should be here tonight.13 minutes ago
twitter:He wasn't the first to get it up ....
Is that technology talk?
Nice to see CrAAAAig StAAAAmen back in the Show. Dumb question, but does he get paid the full $400k for this call up or just a prorated amount?
]It's prorated unless he has a major league deal like Mattheus.
So he'd have to be on the 40 man roster, correct?
He is, but you can have a minor league deal on the 40 man roster.
a guy like Stammen is probably on a "split contract" - where he gets one salary in the minors and a different larger while in the majors.Since he has some service time, he'll get a prorated portion of a salary slightly higher than the league minimum. The minimum is $414K this year, so, let's say Stammen will get a prorated portion of $420K.

DOUG SLATEN -- FCouldn't be counted on in any situation. Put a staggering 36 men on base in only 16 1/3 innings, plus he let 15 of 32 inherited runners score.
Mark Zuckerman blogged his report card today and he actually Slaten the F that he so rightly earned. I can't believe one of the team's beat writers would give one of the players an F!
LOL, never saw this.
WTF it actually goes to a site
Doug Slaten: D- There's not much good to say about the left-hander's season; he allowed 15 of 32 inherited runners to score, wound up with a 4.41 ERA and missed 2 1/2 months because of left elbow neuritis. He was a solid lefty specialist last year, and was mostly a liability this year.
