Lets not use chief in non save situations anymore. At least he is 3-2 on reyes now...make a good pitch, lets go CHIEF!

NATS WIN IT!! Chief's outings usually aren't pretty but more than likely he gets the job done.

They're playing a little better each game now.  I just want to see them continue to improve.  Maybe people will stop "laughing" at the laughing stock of the NL.

Got the job done indeed. He's definitely got some rust given his reaction to the pitch that got away from him, but buckled down and finished strong. When you have a 4 run lead, you have to stay agressive, work to keep the ball in the park, and let batters get themselves out. The odds are in his favor, so it works out well most of the time.

Nice win. It was nice to see Schneider go opposite field. I think Page has seen enough to start making adjustments to a couple of the guys - especially Zimmerman. Page said he wanted 50 ABs before doing anything.

The Chief made Reyes look stupid on that full count strikeout. I loved it, Reyes just standing there aimlessly. The bottom of the order picked it up for us, Church is really putting on a show. I still think we should keep him in the 6 hole, he's hitting great there and moving him up might tamper with that. It's a great sign that the Nationals are playing competitive baseball with a championship contender.

It's great to see that the Nationals are playing competitive baseball, period. I really cared less about the W/L record this year than I did about that. Games like the last few days are just plain fun to watch regardless. So if they can keep this up, it will really help.

Because I have to do them almost every day.  And it's more work than you think.

I change them at the beginning of every series.  If someone wants to post the lineups in the threads, I'll update the lineups.

(I'll copy Sportsfan's lineups in a second.)

Hey, you don't HAVE to, you volunteered ;)

Awesome game by the Nats to beat the stinking Mets.  Doing God's work, as JMad would say :pimp:

Sounds like a good game today.  Had some visitors so I was at the beach and movies all day.  I need to check the recap of this one!
