Twins' minor league left-hander Aaron Thompson will be suspended 50 games for violating baseball's drug policy.

The commissioner's office has yet to make an official announcement on the suspension, but Twins' general manager Terry Ryan said Saturday that he tested positive for recreational drug use, not performance-enhancing drugs. Thompson, 25, signed a minor league deal with the Twins this winter after spending last season in the Pirates' organization.

Livo released by the Astros ... terrible news.  I hope he gets picked up by someone.  He still has some left in the tank.

You think he'd be open to a coaching job? If he couldn't make the 'stros staff/bullpen, he probably won't make it anywhere (at least in the MLB).

a Florida court garnished his wages last week, we don't want to be within a mile of Livan Hernandez.

Andres Blanco was picked up by the Phillies on a minor-league deal just hours after he opted out of his minor-league assignment here.

Glad to see Milone's success.   That kind of control doesn't seem to come around all that often.

good for milone, i wish he/peacock/cole/norris all the best.  they seemed like they were upset leaving the organization but looked forward to their new home.

Yeah, I think he's going to do good things for the A's.  While I like Gio, I think we gave up an awful lot for him.  My favorite Milone moment: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=18803031&c_id=mlb

I think Milone will benefit from pitching in Oakland, same with Peacock and eventually Cole, as well.

Saw that Milone was named the #3 starter for the A's this year. I'll definitely have to check out his games on MLB.tv this year!
