Alton Lane. Interesting concept and solid advice. Made in Thailand has me a bit wary but at the $500-$700 it may be worth it. Apparently they are competing with other m2m such as My.Suit (N.Y. only) and Indochino (measure yourself  ).

Thanks.  I had a friend who would buy all his suits in Thailand.  Said they had exceptional tailors and incredible prices.

Hmm, I kind of want to try this. I wonder how accurate they can get the fit. I've never had an OTR suit fit me properly.

They always have to take off a couple of yards of butt to get mine to fit.

Doubtful although possibally if the shoes contain black piping.

The problem is that it violates more than one rule of dress, beyond traditional English styling (black/black/black, brown/brown/brown) the one thing the dicussion seems to be forgeting is shoes should always be darker than your suit trousers. With this in mind, ingoring several fashion "rules" tends to look clownish without drastic measures (i.e. multipattern sport coat) from a designer. If you really want to go for this type of look, I would suggest burgundy or a deep mahagony color rather than brown per say.

Wear which ever pair that looks the best. A crappy looking pair of shoes won't help a bit, regardless of color.

You could always "rent" a pair from DSW for the interview.

I don't think so.

This weekend I wore brown shoes/brown belt with my grey suit for the first time. Really dug the look. Much better than my crappy black shoes.

So, looks like I'm going to need some new shorts sooner than I thought.  Of the many things I hate about Big&Tall clothes is that they assume everybody likes their shorts baggy.  I know this is a stretch on here, but anyone know of a place that sells 46 shorts in either slim fit or anything other than baggy?

Also, is this boss or passe if I rock it with khaki slim fit shorts, a colored tee shirt, Chuck Taylors, and a cycling cap:

Pay attention - those are "relaxed fit".  Automatically disqualified.

Have you tried the Lands End or JCPenny websites ?

Pennys is where I usually get my shorts but they're another "baggy" shorts offender.  I'll have to give Lands End a try.

Sears has some Lands End items.  It might be a place to get a better feel for their items than through mail order.  But mail order will provide more selection

I wear ll bean shorts and they seem 'relaxed' which you don't want.
