Let me break ugly ...   I'm glad we're resting Zim's hamstring.

They're making decisions on who to re-sign for next year.  We all know what Clippard can do for us, but I guess they wanted another look at Slaten.  Certainly it made sense to use a lefty in that situation.

HOW MANY MORE LOOKS AT SLATEN DO THEY NEED!  HE'S BEEN THE SAME ALL SEASON!!!  >:(

35 baserunners in 16.1 IP for Slaten this year. 2.14 WHIP. Lefties have an OPS near 1.000 against him. What exactly is his worth?

He gave up a homerun to a lefty who had ONE homerun in the season!  How is that even possible???

The decision not to sign Slaten should have already been made. What about Burnett, Mattheus, etc? They are on the true hot seat for next year. Slaten has been the worst pitcher in baseball this year.

Davey blew it. He obviously didn't care about winning these last two games.

Uh, did you forget Burnett is under contract for next season?

Mattheus on the hot seat?  As long as he has a decent spring I'd say he's damn near a lock to make the 'pen next season.  Why would anyone think otherwise?

He looked like he was about ready to cry there.

Looked to me like Lannan couldn't get a good grip on the ball in that rain-inning...6th? Otherwise OK.

Exactly, he was not nearly as bad as people would guess reading this game thread.
