I wonder how long the effects of this series will linger.  This was ugly.
Another stupid off day to stew on it.

Our bats are just so freaking impressive. I wish Rizzo hung out with fans more often so I could thank him personally. ;)

If a day off after a sweep had no carryover effect on this next series how can a day off after being swept have an impact on the next series?

Once again, can anyone think of a reason Eckstein should be here? Nady? Bernadina?

The "happy place" for "Zim" is #7.

No, the "happy place" for "Zim" is #8.  The happy place for Morse is on the bench, replaced by Merry Tyler Moore.  If Morse plays, bat him #8 with Zim-with-1-N moved up to #7.  Let our catchers bat #3.  They've earned it.

DFA Nady and bring up Corey Brown.

My "take" was DJ is very concerned about Zim.

Glad this series is over, I hate inter-league play.  At least the Nats didn't lose much ground in the standings despite getting swept.  A decent showing against the yanks would have been nice instead of laying down like dogs, but in reality this was just a June inter-league series.  Win the next two series, especially the one next weekend against the blO's and I'll be happy.

So you'll pay for a movie tickets but not Nats tickets.

Movie tickets are $12. It would cost that just to get to Nats park

Oh I know.  I'll be at one of the Tampa Bay games and 2 of the 3 games in Cramden Yards.  This Yankees series was the one I was most worried about; the Nats were due for a letdown and had a hot team coming in that would be well represented at Nats Park.  Like I said, I'm glad this series is over without taking a serious hit in the standings.

Zim's gotta sit soon. Morse on stand-by. Not going anywhere with them. Might as well try some kids who can hit...if we have any. (Pitchers-built team, thanks Rizzo).

Maybe signing players to multi-million dollar contracts fouls them up.  We went through this with Werth last year and now we appear to be going through it again with Zimmerman.  As for Morse, he hit last year.  We didn't know what would happen this year plus he had the injury.

But we also signed Morse to new deal this past off-season.  And perhaps that theory explains Dunn's performance (or lack thereof) last season. :poke:
