If the RAZR HD had a release date announced I would have held out as I expect it will have a better battery and screen and likely better phone call quality, but it might not be released for months so I pulled the trigger on the SGIII.  I've got 30 days to change my mind.

As far as the skin goes, the Blur on my Droid X was absolutely terrible but I replaced it with a third party launcher and never had a problem.  I've read a number of complaints that vanilla ICS is too vanilla, so even with no skin the phones aren't perfect.

The bloatware just doesn't bother me.  Sure I'd rather have a phone without it, but I don't open my app drawer very often so I hardly notice that it's there.

Waiting for Christmas will of course mean that better phones are available as these things continue to improve at an amazing pace.  But the one thing I'd watch for is that the manufactures rush the new phones out in order to get the Christmas sales, they tend to have some issues.

Been using my iconia tab a700 for a day now. Totally worth it. Third Android tablet in the past eight months... Started withal cheap $100 HP for craps and giggles. Loved Android over IOS, got the ASUS Transformer Prime. Now this baby. Obviously if and when ASUS releases the Transformer Infinity, it'll kick this things ass due to IPS+, but price, release and availability, I went with ACER. First 1920x1200 Android for those unfamiliar, and thanks to Amazon for breaking the release. Not supposed to be out until next week, no one else online has one yet. For a couple hours on Tuesday amazon screwed up and instead of preorders, guaranteed in stock. I've used an ipad 3 plenty, the display is unnoticeable in difference, and it's running Android over the POS IOS has turned into in comparison.

Why in the hell would you buy multiple tablets?

Err, because the HP was a PoS with nothing. The Transformer was manna from above. And now the ACER offers a dramatic upgrade over the Transformer, which had bugs and short battery, and not the 1920x1200 resolution. I haven't turned on my PC in four months, I solely use a tablet. Considering that, if you have the money, why wouldn't you? I paid for the ACER selling my ST for the Yankees series Saturday and sunday. Given that, since I score all the Nats games on it and use it 8+ hours a day, I don't see it being any order than someone with every ipad version. Each has been a huge upgrade.

The first one only had 64 gigs of ram.  That's like bare minimum for Android.

Hey, if your tablet doesn't have 128 gb of RAM, it's trash. Android needs 128 to run, minimum.

I don't give a crap about technology and would rather spend my money on whores, drugs, and booze.

The hardware looks cool but I just don't think I can go through another long cycle of waiting for the device to be rooted, waiting for CM to be ported, etc.  It wasn't until the release of the 6th or 7th build of an ICS community ROM for my Fascinate that I was truly happy with it.  Maybe the Touchwiz skin for the SG3 isn't as crap as the one that came on my SG1, but I just don't know if I'll ever buy another third-party Android device.

thought about it since I love the 7 inch form factor, and the fire is slow, but I'm waiting to see what amazon comes out with later next month since I'm already pretty invested in their ecosystem and I'm one of those crazy people who like their android skin

I'm pissed with droid right now.

Since their latest firmware update... I no longer have the ability to see the photos of my contacts in the message list. They still appear when you click on the individual messages... but not as the group. All I see is the standard gray headshot.

Quite annoying.

My SGIII arrived on Friday, real nice phone, I'd highly recommend it.

With the new phone I'm trying out SwiftKey over Swype and Chrome over Opera.

Coworker has an S3, it impresses me.  Still think I may go with a GNex though, or just wait a few more months for the next iteration.  Just really don't feel like waiting for the ecosystem for the S3 to mature, and the extra horsepower of the S3 won't really do anything for me given my typical usage.

The camera is one of the big selling points, no shutter lag and burst mode are nice features.

So far so good, better than my old Droid X. I'll probably buy an extended battery for when I travel but it works just fine for normal use. It recharges very fast.

Google knows everything about me, this phone had my contacts, bookmarks, and and wifi password without me entering anything more than my Gmail address. I'm thinking that I can ask for an escort and it will find my ideal chick based on my location, price range, schedule, and pictures preferences.
