What's funny is that PC was the least trolling participant in that exchange.
Office 2003 is better than OO. Libre Office is better but still inferior to Office 2003. Office 2007 was a masterpiece. Office 2010 was a fairly minor upgrade to 2007 but it integrates perfectly with Web Apps. Web Apps >> Google Doc, btw.
Gimp and Paint are for totally different markets. Gimp is way over complicated and is more accurately compared to Photoshop.
Paint.NET is fantastic, closed-source, written using the .NET framework by a Microsoft employee.
All spot-on.
Best at what? Show me one Microcrape product that dominates over an open source equivalent.
Uh, Microsoft Windows?
Now look, before anybody gets their knickers in a twist, I'm not a blind MS fanboy like PC (though I sometimes wonder if he's putting on a show), but between how turrible most Linux Desktop distros are and the fact that almost any worthwhile OSS app has an excellent Windows and/or Mac port, why in the blue freaking hell would anybody use desktop Linux? Linux as a server is great, and there are some great shiny gems of open source like Firefox, GIMP, etc., but they aren't dominant products.

That said, the two pieces of software that make up probably 95% of my computer usage (Firefox and Pidgin) are both open source

Also the forum runs on Linux
