My name is Ben, hard of hearing Nats fan. I live in Herndon.  I have been following the team when they made the postseason in 2012.  Was there at the game on game 5 of NLDS on my first game. :(  Glad to be here after searching for a Nats forum.  Was struggling to find the parking and best seating and lo behold this site was helpful!!!

Cheers,
Ben

Welcome Ben !!

You newbs don't know ol' Cubiche, also known as "Nospinzone".  He was an old Jewish Cuban refuge with strong opinions on just about everything but had lived with or knew personally a number of the old Cuban Senators players.  He was going blind and so HE TYPED EVERYTHING LIKE THIS SO HE COULD SEE WHAT HE WAS TYPING.

RIP old friend.

He was a classic.    He was one of a kind.   He knew every Cuban player who came through the Senators.    RIP

It's been so long since I posted here, I might as well introduce myself again. For personal reasons I'm staying away from the MLB Nats board, but I'd like to talk about my team someplace besides Facebook. (Nothing against the great group I recently joined.) So...here I am, looking forward to October baseball again.

Tim here. Joined back in 2012 and usually just lurking. I've lived in Arlington since 2008 and I've been following the team then. I was a SPH last year but my buddy backed out so I had to drop the plan, unfortunately. I was at all three NLDS games in 2012. Can't wait for October baseball.

Hello,

Like some others here I am sure, I was a fan of the Washington Senators long ago.
It was not easy to live without a local team after the end of 1971 until the start of
2005! Of course, no Washington major league team made it to the World Series going
back since 1933, and that was well before even I was born.

Congrats to all the Nats fans for Washington winning the division and don't you
all have the feeling that they will go further this time than they did in the 2012 playoffs?
I do!

Welcome!

I was born two months before the Earthquake Series, in case you like feeling old.

It's very good to have you. You can talk Senators at least with Welch, More of #34, vernon337, and EdStroud. We have quite a few Sens fans 'round here.

Welcome!  I too was a Senators fan!  1969 version.  We got a variety of people here:  Positive people, Negative people, and everything in between!  Overall a great group though!  Sometimes we meet up at the Red Loft at the ballpark.

Love your screen name!

Thanks to all who replied!  Some Nats fans I know are pessimistic and seem to enjoy it
when they lose out. To me the best is yet to come, and the Nats have a really good chance to
excel and do better than they did two years ago. It is not impossible that they will make it into
the Series and if that happens, whether they win or not... I will be in seventh heaven.
Anything is possble.

I was raised on the Griffith Senators, the ones who became the Twins. Sievers, and Killebrew, and
Pascual, and more. But I don't miss them so much now that we have our own group of 21st
century baseball greats!

Welcome! You've come to the right place. My first game at Griffith Stadium was a day when they gave Mickey Vernon the silver bat as AL batting champion. Many of us have endured for a long time, repeating, "You gotta have heart! Miles and miles and miles of heart! When the odds are sayin' you'll never win that's when the grins should start! You gotta have heart!"

Remembering that winning streak, all those those come-from-behind wins, especially that game in LA...heart.
