I think someone forgot to tell our batters that they're playing in RFK.  Seriously, what's with all the power hits to center?  Somebody clue these guys in.  They were doing the same thing in Houston.  I know you can't bend the ball to your will, but jeez, at least TRY to pull it a little.

why the hell do people insist on swinging at the first pitch?

Maybe they'll just call it a no hitter and put an asterisk next to it for Vidro's homer.

Is anyone else as embarrassed as I am? I mean seriously less than 50 pitches for 5 whole innings, I mean if you're not gonna hit at LEAST make the pitcher work. I mean seriously, what infuriates me most about this team is that by all logical sense they SHOULD be a much better offensive team than last year. I mean, Guillen, Johnson, and Vidro are healthy, and we've added Soriano and Zimmerman. I just don't understand where this lack of hitting comes from. I swear I'm starting to think there's a curse over the Nats (like the Sox and the Cubs). It's called the curse of the no-offense and it will last 100 years and then we'll make the playoffs.

man.  the bad thing is, Armas is *not* pitching that badly.

our offense is just ridiculously absent from this game.

Vidro is the only one swinging the bat well.

It's so sad that one of our biggest question marks coming in (Armas) is doing an AMAZING job, seeing as he is coming back from surgery and the line up he is facing. It disgusts me to know that for the rest of the year, no matter how hard our pitchers work, it will amount to nothing. They're win totals wont accurately display their potential. It just makes me sick

Anyone else starting to think that we should trade Vidro while he is hitting for a whole lotta prospects? While we still have the chance?

And here's another thing that sucks, Armas is due to bat second, although he is pitching extremely well, Robinson will probably have to pinch hit for him since we are so desperate for offense and since it seems that Vidro and our bench are the only people that can hit. Which means our bullpen will be used up earlier than necessary all because THE NATS CANT FREAKING HIT!!

I never quite knew what a slap-hitter was until I saw Watson in action

Or because Armas is already close to 100 pitches, and not known for his durability.

Sure enough, here comes Marlon Anderson.

Oh man, I love HTML coding... Instead of having a couple of extra screen open and needing to switch to read posts in here and follow the game, I made myself a web page that has the Forum on the left half of the screen, with the ESPN Game Cast and Yahoo Game Channel one above the other on the other side... Thank God for 1600x1200 screen sizes...   :P

I can now see everything at once... I love it

Pedro will walk Anderson to get to Watson.  Watson is an easy double-play.

that's pretty much it.

Armas has never been a very durable pitcher, and the fact that he is coming back from shoulder surgery only compounds the issue.

If Frank is smart, he'll pinch for Watson here.
