Harper IS one of the big boys, and they pitched around Zimmerman as a result of having 1st open.

Agreed. The only way that makes sense is if the pitcher has dominated that particular hitter in the past. Parnell wasn't throwing strikes, so that makes it a pretty bad call.

It goes beyond that, but I didn't want to get into in during this game thread.  You don't really increase your run expectency by sacrificing the out to move the runners.

I'd love to see the stats behind it :P I just know that bunting over is a technique, but know nothing about it's effectiveness.
