Pretty strange that Franco was still on peseta coins right up to the conversion to the Euro.

So are American fans of Barcelona called the Lincoln Brigade?

Ps - Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

Real Madrid @Barcelona 4:00

The Spanish Civil War continues...

So much talent in these games, but also too much flopping and whining.

There was plenty of both, but it was still a crazy mad skills exposition.  Kind of like the Harlem Globetrotters on grass.  I'll bet there was a long wait for restaurant food from 4:00-6:00.

Rooney must have been playing with a Vulcan cloaking device he was finding so much space.

Vulcans don't have cloaking technology

Although their distant relatives, the Romulans do.

Do both the Romulans and the Klingons have cloaking devices?  I mean, for all their smarts, the Vulcans did not bother to cloak?  What gives?

Been looking forward to it. Suarez coming back is huge for Liverpool. I'm guessing they'll run a 4-3-3 with Carroll up front and Suarez and Bellamy on the wings.

Should be a great game.

Yes, Romulans and Klingons both have cloaking technology.

The Treaty of Algeron between the Romulan Star Empire and The United Federation of Planets, in addition to establishing the neutral zone also prohibited the Federation from developing cloaking technology of their own.  Of course they did anyway in super sekeret, as on the USS Pegasus.

I'll be rooting for the underfunded upstart in that one.

Ha ha, spoken like a true Red Sox fan

Apoel (from Cyprus) has to be considered the gritty underdog in this tournament, followed by perhaps Basel and Napoli.  Apoel is down a goal after the away match at Olympique Lyonnais.

I'll be rooting for the underfunded upstart in that one.

Didn't the Eagles write a song about that last team?  You can't hide your Lyonnais?

Ha yes.  Though it would be hard to hide those hot pink home jerseys of theirs.

Good piece on Fox Soccer yesterday about Apoel.

Wenger has lost it. His tactics have been crappy all season.

Why doesn't he give Oxlade-Chamberlain regular starts?
