Security Company Recommendations
« Topic Start: December 13, 2011, 09:52:29 AM »
I just scheduled with Ackerman - heard the commercial during the Skins game and they have a low monthly rate and so far, friendly phone customer service.

Insurance agent, home inspector, etc, are related to ADT of course.

Any experiences or recommendations?

Medallion Doors work better than any alarm system.

We had a home invasion out here in North Bethesda, doesn't matter where you live.

Someone idiot shot another idiot in Burke over a speedbump.

These are not very funny jokes.

I just like that it apparently has yuppies, illegal immigrants, and tons of crime - anymore DC stereotypes to throw in? Maybe a go-go club? 8 all nude strip joints? Illegal chinese handbag kiosks?

Nice, the home inspector works with Guardian, so I can get an easy estimate that way for comparison. Thanks for taking it seriously!

My next door neighbor is a Maryland State Trooper. MSP cruiser in front of your house ftw!! On a distressing note:

Looks like it's probably the same trio of douchebags. They better be careful though, it's hunting season up in these hills. Most guns are currently loaded.

I think we have a semi-permanent cop-on-the-corner

I'll look at Slomin's

So, no matter where you live the risk of crime is just about the same?

Yes, that's the reason, not a desire for more security based upon the first bad experience

It's an exercise in probability, interjected into a security profile template.

Or to put it another way, risks vs precautions.

You're referring to home security though, my statement was security as a general concept.

If you are a freaking robot, yes. If you want to sleep better at night, and 20 bucks a month will do that for you, then it is a good investment.

No, I'm referring to security as a concept wherever one might be.  Choosing what side of the street to walk on can be a security precaution.  Where to park your car, what places to visit, etc.
