I think it's tasteless to try to get a player to say/imply bad things about their old losing team when they go to a winning team but media always does it.  His old team and where they are in the standings is irrelevant.

My son and I went to see "Spamalot" at the National Theater.    That's all the Python I've seen in my life.

Rent or buy the original series.    Or watch some clips on YouTube.   Amazing, amazing stuff.   The Argument Clinic, The Cheese Shoppe, Ministry of Silly Walks, Dead Parrot, and on and on.

Ross is pitching down to the competition.  Two runs in three innings is unacceptable.  :roll:

Thread seems pretty dead tonight.  Everyone must be gassed from last night's epic late night.

It's just a really boring game. And that was not a strike.

I guess arguing whether you got hit or not is not arguing balls and strikes (which can get you tossed).

We really should have more than one hit through four innings against this bum.

If you swing at strike three and it hits your arms, is that a foul ball, are you called out where you stand, or can you run to first base?

You could say the same thing almost every night.

I think it's called out where you stand as a swinging strike. Happened a few games ago to Espi.

You are out for swinging.  A swing negates anything else.

From Rule 2.00:

Quote
A STRIKE is a legal pitch when so called by the umpire, which—
(a) Is struck at by the batter and is missed;
(b) Is not struck at, if any part of the ball passes through any part of the strike
zone;
(c) Is fouled by the batter when he has less than two strikes;
(d) Is bunted foul;
(e) Touches the batter as he strikes at it;
(f) Touches the batter in flight in the strike zone; or
(g) Becomes a foul tip.

Hey Bob, would it be any less true if you said Ross Detwiler has retired xxx batters in a row AFTER the inning has ended?

It would be less timely.
