Ump Throws Out Heckler Last Night
« Topic Start: September 17, 2014, 01:36:53 PM »
The home plate ump at last night's game threw out an obnoxious Atlanta fan who was yelling obscenities at Nats' batter Bryce Harper.

"Cope" is one of our members .....   Copecwby20.    He started the GDT last night (check it out) and was at the game.   The pictures in the thread are of him and lesser stars.

Cope is the short hand for a member here who reluctantly lives in Atlanta and enjoys interaction with Braves fans.
BiL is simply stating that rather than Welke throw the guy out and have an usher escort him, that Cope could have handled the situation in a manner that may have been more satisfying to most of us here...mainly Cope

There's really no place for that in any sport but baseball is the best at not tolerating that kind of behavior.

I got a really drunk Phillies fan thrown out a few years ago because he was very free with his limited vocabulary. I simply called the usher on him. He watched him for about five minutes before he had security throw him out.

It's Atlanta.    Don't be so sure.

Good for Welke. I saw a Yankee Stadium usher have two young drunks taken out. The drunks were shouting the usual obscenities at fans in the RF bleachers...the "bleacher creatures". When the usher asked the drunks to behave, they dropped their pants. Usher raised a hand and a New York police officer appeared. Officer pointed to the drunks, pointed to a spot beside his shoes. They looked him over, tried to sass him ("Hey m-f, this is a game"). Officer glared, drummed his fingers on his night-stick, pointed again. Drunks looked at the officer and at his partner, who was waiting at the top of the steps. Drunks gave up.

Normally this kind of crap is self regulating to a large extent (stupid-ass drunk millennials are a nearly universal scourge, and their "fellow" fans are generally quite happy to see them tossed).

This Barve puke appears to have the full support of everyone around in his section, which is just sad.

whoa, ease up on the millennial bashing, most of my friends cant even afford a seat in that location, let alone be proud of getting ejected from what is probably an extremely expensive seat. that guy is a very special kind of entitled jackass

Not picking on millenials, but really drunk miscreants at sports events tend to be males in their twenties and thirties. That's always been the age group that needs to learn how to handle alcohol. Nothing new.
