Braves, in all games NOT vs. the Nats this season, score one-tenth of a run LESS, per game, than they allow.  ( 3.7 to 3.8 )

Nats, in all games NOT vs. the Braves this season, score one FULL of a run MORE, per game, than they allow.  ( 4.4 to 3.4 )

In head-to-head games this season the average game is 4.1 for the Braves (+.4) to 2.9 for the Nats (-1.5)

This is ridiculous.  Stop being scared of these guys.  And I think that's exactly what they are.  The rest of the league scores a run more per game against the Braves than the Nats can manage.

I don't think it's being scared. I think it's something about how the Braves have been coached that makes them very good against the Nationals. Something about their approach at the plate. Something about the way they pitch.

They hunt fastballs. They don't worry about hitting anything that isn't dead red. It's why Roark can beat them (late movement on his fastballs) and Strasburg can't (movement on everything but his fastball).

Anyway, that's what I tell myself so I can sleep.

FP says the same thing.

I would add re Stras...it's not just movement, it's location. He just catches too much of the plate sometimes.

Win the series. No Teheran, no Wood. We can bury them here and now.

I keep expecting them to kick the Brave's booty, and they keep not doing that.  I have no expectations  :|

Take two out of three and I'm good. The division race will be basically over after that.

We have the better matchup in all three games and there is no excuse for losing even one.

Meh. Stuff happens. All the Nats need is two out of three.

An early sign that the Braves will choke.

How often does this happen for teams in the hunt? I know strep can be bad, but  :hysterical:
