Nationals vs Rockies, Game 3
« Topic Start: August 17, 2008, 12:03:35 PM »
Just posting a thread now so there is one. I won't be watching because I have a fantasy football draft at 2 PM today. Glad of it too.
Today's lineup is an insult on so many levels. Everyone in the lineup is a bench player or worse and not a part of our future except EB and LM.

Washington

Bonifacio -- 2B
Harris -- LF
Milledge -- CF
Boone -- 1B
Belliard -- 3B
Langerhans -- RF
Orr -- SS
Nieves -- C
Perez -- LHP

Colorado

Barmes -- 2B
Taveras -- CF
Holliday -- LF
Atkins -- 1B
Hawpe -- RF
Iannetta -- C
Tulowitzki -- SS
Stewart -- 3B
Cook -- RHP

Any word on why Zimmerman is not starting?  Getaway game?

This should be a fun game.  Only one player in our lineup has a batting average over .260, Will Nieves with a .269 avg.  Then again, we do have the top 3 on our team in Home Runs (Milledge, Belliard, Harris) throwing around some power in there .

The Rockies are the 2nd best hitting team in MLB against left-handed pitchers.  That accounts for the shelling of Lannan yesterday and Odalis Perez could get the same today.  The Nationals needed to find a way to put up righties this series, but that would have required that we have a GM and manager...

We have an off day tomorrow so this isn't considered a getaway game. Zimmerman is probably just getting a day off in order to give him two days of rest before we resume play in Philly.

Luckily Perez worked his way out of that jam. Let's get some runs.

After watching the incessant parade of "Walk, Run" on the scoreboard yesterday whenever the Rockies came to bat, my expectations for this team have reached a new low.

A game of inches. Had Tulowitski, who was reaching for the errant throw, nicked the ball, we'd have runners at 1st and 3rd with only one out.

Indeed, but now it looks almost brilliant.

A lot of people are late.
Is that normal?

Yeah we have a lame fanbase that is not really interested in the game itself. And that's not because the team sucks. People here are always late so that won't change when the team gets better.

For example in the incident of the people that stood up in the open roof double decker bus, they were on their way to the game over an hour late.  :?

Ok.
It's not like in Europe people are allways on time.
But not in such numbers...
