It was dumb to hope for a base runner.

Bullcrap loss.

Tailor made groundball for Desmond to either turn two or get the runner at home and he airmails it

He had plenty of time to make that throw, not sure why he panicked like that.

Well...sometimes they lose. Get them tomorrow, though.

The game was over the minute Davey took Storen out and replaced him with Burnett.

Sean Burnett better not sniff the postseason roster. He's a gas can pitching machine. Looks like 2011 form again.

Not even sure it hurts that much.  Nats only need to win one this weekend, and it wasn't likely to be the Medlen-Detweiler match-up anyway.  We got a much better game than we should have.  Get 'em tomorrow.

Desmond had little chance, Simmons had a great break.

17 Ks in 9 innings, they didn't deserve to win anyways. Braves' pitching is out of this world. We can't compete with that.

It was, that ball was hit hard and right to Desi. Could have turned two or gotten the easy out at home.

Any reason they didn't try the double play?  Desmond really could have had him at the plate.

Choke play in quasi-playoff baseball. Gotta be able to handle that situation better. Learning experience for Desmond there as that slow roller was a gift. Loss not his fault by any means, but that looked like a nervous rookie play not an all star move. It's the type of thing the Nats players need to be prepared.

Really?  I'd put the Nats staff from top to bottom against any other staff in MLB.  And not break a sweat.

Well it's not as bad as when Uggla dropped the ball, in either case.  My live impression was no chance for anything.
