He was doing that while Zimmerman was on 2nd.

But when he was complaining about it the bases were empty. The balk rule was implemented to prevent the pitcher from deceiving RUNNERS! It has nothing to do with batters unless the pitcher is doctoring the ball in some way by scuffing it or with a substance.

double switch.

Flores' spot is was the last out, so it is the furthest from coming up to bat.

But he wasn't doing a bad job calling the game.

This is where we find out if Hanrahan has what it takes to be a Major League Closer.

I really wouldn't want any of our current guys in our bullpen on the team next season.

Manny freaked the pooch. Leaving Rivera in would have been a much, much better option.

SHut you frickin mouth, jerk!  If you'd take me off iggy, you'd see the reason I said that.  But since you have me on ignore, you'll never see this showing.

It's always something with this team. They finally wake up and get some runs across and they find a way to blow it. This loss is squarely on Saul Rivera's shoulders.

Stat of the inning:  Nationals are 7-5 when tied after 8 innings.

Just a horrible pitch to throw in that situation. If he wanted to throw the slider he should have thrown it in the dirt. Don't understand why he wouldn't stay with his bread and butter fastball.

I blame Hanrahan and Manny an equal amount. Rivera didn't even get a freaking chance to get out of the jam. I'm almost sure he would have gotten out of it or at the worst given up 1 run.

JMU always finds the sunny side of things.

QFT. Absolutely. I don't get why some guys are afraid to throw their best stuff and attempt to fool hitters instead of challenging them. It's probably the psychology of pitchers though.  :?
