The amount of truth to the claims of non-ironness are key in shirts.

I refuse to buy anything other then BB non-iron because of this- I just replace them as the cuffs or collar starts to fray

With men's clothing, you very often get what you pay for.

Durability is a factor, I have a few of my grandfather's ties that I still wear

Exactly.  A $1,000 pair of dress shoes will last you your entire life if you take care of them.  The same is true of suits and dress clothes.  The bigger problem is that with dress clothes, in particularly jackets and pants, cheaper material looks cheap and doesn't last.  People find it insane that I'd spend $200 on a tie but it feels and looks nice and looks good on me it's totally werth it.

Non iron shirts are amazing. I just spray em with water and hang em. Even works for some ironing required shirts

Wait, are you talking about machine washable dress shirts?

Yep, you can't tell, they have creases better than I can do with an iron

I'm anal enough that I iron non-iron shirts for maximum phreshness.

Most of the ties i've purchased are Ben silver and I paid less than half that, so maybe you are insane ;)

I'm with MDS, I've dropped that much cabbage on ties. I love good ties.

If you shop there, be careful to avoid buying regimentals unless you seriously want to piss off some Brits

Does anyone have any recommendations for good, white kicks/shoes/sneakers/tennisshoes/whatever other name you wanna call them, that go good with jeans? I really can't wear my white new balance shoes because they're so hideous.

Oh yeah, I also got to rock a suit this weekend at a wedding I attended. Been awhile since I have worn one. They're dope. Swag.

Aw crap that site is awesome.

As for suits and shirts, I plan to lose weight so I don't want to waste my money on designer stuff just yet. I think it would be a crime to have a $1000 suit taken in 2 inches like I just did with my Jos A Bank suit.

Right, my goal is by this time next year have lost enough weight and gotten into good enough shape to drop three dimes on a really nice suit.  Afterward I plan on reenacting this scene everywhere I go:

Totally.  I wear a pair of black ones to work and to bike in.  Absolutely zero arch support, but they're timeless classics.

I've got a pair of black ones but they are really high up, like boots.  I like that low cut version.  I need to get some new shoes soon, my Sketchers are wearing out.  Where did you see those?

Zappos or really any shoe store like DSW/Rack Room should have them.

I just dug around in my closet and found my old pair, ima rock 'em out to the store here in a couple minutes.

They do look kinda like clown shoes in my size

Cmd, maybe the all black ones would be more your style?  Those are the ones I have.

I have sort of a lack of fashion sense when it comes to the colder months. I've always had basketball shoes and I've literally had a pair of new balance shoes for like 3 years. I have a few pairs of boat shoes and sandals and thats about it. During the warmer days, I usually rock khaki shorts with a t-shirt, polo, or button down and either sandals/boat shoes. When its the winter months, I wear sweats on campus with a hoodie or my only two pairs of jeans or khaki pants with a polo or button down. The problem is that I don't have anything that goes with my jeans so I wear my brown boat shoes. I need to get darker jeans and some white/black kicks. I just never know what shoes to buy. I'll try and check some of those out if I'm in a mall. Too bad I can't see what I look like with them on right now :\
