Movies take audiences where they could not go otherwise, such as the far reaches of outer space or a kitchen with George Clooney in it. See the stars when Groupon Presents Movie Night at Nationals Park on Thursday, November 8. Ballpark gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the evening's movie, St. Elmo's Fire, begins at 7:30 p.m. Free parking is available for the first 1,200 cars in lots B and C located on N Street SE. Choose from the following options:

For $15, you get one ticket for an outfield stadium seat.
For $30, you get one ticket for field seating.
For $38, you get a bar package that includes:
One ticket for an outfield stadium seat
Beer and wine from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk; discounted food will be available for purchase
For $75, you get a VIP package that includes:
        One ticket for field seating
Beer, wine, and food from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Lexus Presidential Club

Groupon will be bringing back the 80s and celebrating Nationals Park’s home team’s incredible baseball season. As soon as the gates open, lookalikes posing as the film's seven main characters stand ready for photo ops. Local hairstylists from Voila Salon and Salon en Color help guests complete their 1980s ensemble with a big-hair makeover. Whichever guests arrive draped in the most convincing 1980s outfit may be rewarded with a Groupon gift card or a madcap weekend of convincing people that their dead boss is still alive. Three 30-foot screens face the outfield from along the infield lip of Nationals Park, broadcasting the coming-of-age romantic comedy about seven friends who have recently graduated from Georgetown University.

[from linked item] 'Groupon will be bringing back the 80s and celebrating Nationals Park’s home team’s incredible baseball season.'

...I resided in this area through the entire decade of the 1980's and I do not recall this area having a baseball team...or Nationals Park for that matter.

[Groupon stock (NASDAQ: GRPN) currently trading at $4.49/share - within the past year the per-share price was in the $20 range]

It'd only be worth it if we could sing an 80s tune like St Elmo's Fire Take On Me

That'd be cool if it was wayyyy cheaper. I'm not willing to spend that much to go to a regular movie theater for a new movie.

The '80s sucked. Musically and otherwise. Why would anyone want to relive them?  :stir:

Well, except for Take on Me.

Wait a second, they are having a movie night at Nats Park and they aren't using the massive HD screen in CF?

This is bizarre.  And seriously expensive...and if I saw an Ally Sheedy double, I probably wouldn't stop running until I was north of the Mall.

Let's see:

Bad things:
AIDS
crack
Iran-Iraq war
Air Supply
McRibs
Ollie North for Senate

Good things:
Guns n Roses

Yep, I have to agree with you.
