Definitely, unless you've saved so much in the 401K plans that you can live off it for as many years as needed

Is retirement in one's mid 40s considered to be uncouth?  I don't mind sleeping under bridges (or at least I didn't when I was 18).

I saw a BMW 3 series and a camaro go off the road during my short drive, those really aren't the best cars to drive in the snow (unless the BMW was an AWD model, which I seriously doubt ).

I had a 3 series for a while, it was the worst car I've ever driven in the snow.  That is, until I replaced the stock summer performance tires with Bridgestone Blizzaks, at which point it became the best 2-wheel drive car I'd ever driven in the snow.

Tires is damn near as important as driver skill overall, and at times can be more important.

CWG's earlier prediction:

They are posting the latest model runs now, NAM is showing more snow than originally expected, over a longer period of time, but still nothing more than an inch or two

I like the Boom & Bust percentages. This must be a Clay Davenport model.

It was only a few days ago that everyone was screaming about schools being open when they shouldn't have been. You have to treat potential rush hour storms differently, delay putting the buses on the road.

Wait, did you say closed?

Yeah. Two hour delay would have been the prudent route.

Snowed enough to completely cover the roads with a coating here, but it was gone by the time I got out of work

It's sixty-something degrees here in Columbia. I hope it lasts. The only chance we have here for any sort of lengthy amount of spring-like temperatures is to have warm late winters because the typical spring months turn to summer weather very rapidly.

School should be from March 'til mid-December.    Problem solved.    They'd whine about that too.
